ANNEX PREP

If it’s WINTER: Use the up or down arrows on the thermostat to bring the temperature up. On a cold day it will take about 90 minutes to reach 69 degrees. Setting the temperature higher does not shorten the time. Thermostats return to default settings at 11:00 am, 3:45 & 9:15 pm.
Restroom thermostat: Trickier; ask prior to use.

If the size of the group does not warrant use of the small room, close the accordion door to the width of a normal doorway passage.
If the group is larger, open the accordion door and adjust the thermostat in the small room as well.

Decide beforehand how many dishes will need to be washed. Cups and saucers for small groups can probably be done just using the “on-demand” hot water in the small sink adjacent to the free-standing gas burners.
For more people, or more dinnerware, go to the small back room with the exterior door and turn on the switch on the hot water heater.
This will take about 30 minutes to produce hot water for the two triple sinks.

Gas ranges, burners, and ovens: Find the exterior propane tank behind the room with the hot water heater. Raise the lid and turn the knob to “open,” just as you would open a faucet.
Light the ranges or ovens using the butane lighters located near the ranges.  For the small free-standing double burner [adjacent to the sink with “on-demand” hot water], first turn the valve so that it is parallel to the gas line.

There are two “Mr Coffee” type coffee makers, a double and a single. The double uses #4 cone shaped filters. Filters are located on the corner shelf. Large serving pitchers are behind the doors of the low cabinet under the pass-through window.
Larger coffee urns can also be used. “Recipes” for amounts of coffee are posted near the coffee urn area. When cleaning urns, remember: do not immerse them in water. Scrub, rinse inside, and use paper towels to wipe dry before returning metal coffee basket and tube.

There is a microwave oven in the small rear room without an exterior door.

Trash: Put non-recyclable trash in trash bags within green plastic cans. Trash bags are under the counter next to the double-door refrigerator.  All trash must be bagged and placed in BURGUNDY container.
Woodstown uses single-stream recycling. Glass, plastic, & aluminum belong in the large BLUE recycling container.  Styrofoam is “trash” and not recyclable.

Please do not apply adhesive tape to any painted surfaces.

ANNEX CLEAN-UP

Bags of trash that do not fit into cans should be placed into the BURGUNDY container outside the exterior “kitchen” door. Trash must be bagged.
Diapers: If there is a possibility that diapers have been changed, please check all restroom trash receptacles. Place bags in outside BURGUNDY container.

If tables are folded and taken to rear room, stack legs-to-legs and top-to-top. This will prevent the metal legs from scratching the tabletops.

Brooms are in the rear room without exterior door.

Do not leave food in the refrigerator. No one will use it. Take it home.
Return unused sugar, sweeteners, and tea bags to plastic containers.

Small free-standing gas burner: make certain that gas valve is perpendicular to gas line.
Outside propane tank: “Close” valve tightly.

     Turn Hot-water heater to “Off.”

Use arrows to return thermostats to 55 degrees.

    Close accordion door.

Lock “Welcome” doors from outside. Unless other arrangements have been made, please hook the key to a nail on the kitchen bulletin board. Leave the kitchen door locked as the last person leaves.

Thank you.
